Spirit on Self-Hatred
Spirit has maintained that much of what we see today in our world is due to a lack of love.
We asked Spirit where self-hatred comes from in our book WTF I’m Trying to Be Spiritual – A Guidebook for Loving Yourself without Fear. The answer may come as a surprise. . .
Below is an excerpt from our book WTF I’m Trying to Be Spiritual – A Guidebook for Loving Yourself without Fear © 2014 Jeanette Bishop & Helen Varga

HELEN: Where did self-hatred come from?
JEN/UNIVERSAL SOURCE: Your own mind. Whether you believe it or not, you get something out of hating yourself. It ought to help you strive for more peace and harmony; instead, it is used against others, because you think blame, so therefore self-hatred keeps company with your own sense of misery.
Living in a world filled with negative images, which you have created yourselves, weighs down your being.
HELEN: Who teaches us self-hate?
JEN/UNIVERSAL SOURCE: It would be lovely to be able to blame someone else for your self-hate; however, it is you that creates it, so you can rise above it. You want to become self-sufficient. It has taken a millennium, and now it is about un-creating the self-hate in order to be spiritual beings, which in fact you already are. All is about experience, whether you like the experience or not—it is within your power to change it.
HELEN: What do we get from loathing ourselves?
JEN/UNIVERSAL SOURCE: That has already been touched upon—the blaming of others.
